Devils on Devil’s Stream

The Prague Venice company in cooperation with the Prague Ghosts and Legends Museum arranged on the eve of St. Nicholas (5th December 2013) the traditional devils cruises for children. On this evening the Devil’s Stream (Čertovka) will be full of devils and boats of the Vodouch type that are inseparable from the canal nowadays.

The roofed heated boats will be setting out for the cruises each 15-20 minutes from the dock in the U Lužického semináře street, where the last arch of the Charles Bridge and the Čertovka canal cross. The first boat will leave at 6 p.m., the last at 8 p.m. The thirty minutes long cruises will be accompanied by legends and stories of devils along the canal. Since the last year, out devils have learned to spit fire; therefore the visitors have something to look forward to. Moreover, St. Nicholas himself will be sailing on the Vltava River. He will board each boat and reward all well-behaved children.

During the evening a competition for the most frightening devils’ costume will be taking place, the winner will be announced at 7 p.m.

Children under 6 years of age can sale through the Prague Venice for free, adults and children older than 6 years for 80 CZK. Children in the costumes of St. Nicholas, angels or devils will have the cruise also for free.

Date: 5th December 2013 from 6p.m. to 8p.m.
Place: U Lužického semináře street, where the last arch of the Charles Bridge and the Čertovka canal cross.
